AHA BLS Instructor Development Program

Service Description

The AHA BLS Instructor Development Program at SDA Learning Center prepares qualified candidates to become confident, professional instructors capable of teaching Basic Life Support (BLS) courses. Program Investment $500.00 The program investment includes instructor development through SDA Learning Center and applicable Training Center processing. Additional materials or required AHA resources may be the responsibility of the candidate. Before You Enroll All prospective instructor candidates must complete a Faculty Screening Interview before acceptance into the program. Candidates should: • Hold a current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification • Have a strong understanding of BLS CPR/AED skills • Be comfortable demonstrating skills and communicating with students • Be committed to following current AHA guidelines, policies, and course requirements • Be prepared to complete all required instructor-development steps SDA Learning Center recommends that candidates have at least two years of experience as a BLS Provider before pursuing instructor status. Your Instructor Journey Becoming an instructor is a process—not simply a one-day class. Accepted candidates will complete the required instructor-development components, including instructor training, required AHA coursework, skills and teaching preparation, and their first monitored course. After completing the instructor course, candidates have up to six months to complete their required course monitoring.
